LifeNet 8-1, based at KHGR – Hagerstown Regional Airport, placed N971EC in service today, replacing N135ED. N917EC is a 2011 EC135T2+.

Starting in 1981, eastern Pennsylvania ushered in the era of emegency air medicine. LVH MedEvac led the way in the spring of 1981, followed shortly by Geisinger Life Flight in the summer of 1981. Life Lion soon joined, launching operations in 1986. Together, these programs vastly improved access to trauma centers and transformed prehospital care across the state.
