With the sale of these helicopters, Mercy Health Life Flight has downsized from 4 bases to 2 bases, leaving LF2 at Fulton County Airport and Life Flight 4 at Sandusky County Airport. Reports are that they will be adding another A109 this summer to go with the 3 existing A109s in their fleet: N91SV, N63SV

Starting in 1981, eastern Pennsylvania ushered in the era of emegency air medicine. LVH MedEvac led the way in the spring of 1981, followed shortly by Geisinger Life Flight in the summer of 1981. Life Lion soon joined, launching operations in 1986. Together, these programs vastly improved access to trauma centers and transformed prehospital care across the state. Check back as a detailed history of all 3 programs will soon be published.
